Seamless steel pipe production process
There are many production methods for seamless pipes. According to delivery requirements, it can be produced by hot rolling or cold rolling and cold drawing. The billets for hot-rolled tubes include round, square or polygonal ingots, billets or continuous casting billets, and the quality of the billet has a direct impact on the quality of the tube.
There are three basic processes for hot-rolled tubes: ① pierce the ingot or billet into a hollow thick-walled capillary on a piercing machine; ② thin the capillary on an extension machine and extend it into a tube with a wall thickness close to the finished product; Finished tube on request. The series of rolling mills are represented by the maximum outer diameter of the steel pipe produced.
