430 Stainless Steel is a ferritic stainless steel containing no nickel (Ni). It relies on high chromium content for corrosion resistance but is weaker than austenitic stainless steels (e.g., 304).

Notes:

Annealed Condition: Lower strength but higher ductility, suitable for simple forming (e.g., cutting, bending).

Magnetism: Ferritic structure gives it strong magnetism.

Cold-Worked Condition: Strength increases via cold rolling/drawing, but ductility and impact toughness decrease significantly.

Corrosion Resistance: Resists atmospheric corrosion and weak oxidizing environments but is prone to pitting and intergranular corrosion in chloride (e.g., seawater) or acidic media.
