Note:

201 Stainless Steel is a nickel-saving austenitic stainless steel, where high manganese (Mn) and nitrogen (N) partially replace nickel (Ni), significantly reducing cost. However, its corrosion resistance is weaker than 304/316 grades.

In Chinese standards (e.g., GB/T 3280), 12Cr17Mn6Ni5N corresponds to 201 stainless steel. Note differences in designations between Indian, American, and other international standards.

Note:

Annealed State: Suitable for welding and forming, but deep-drawing performance is inferior to 304 stainless steel.

Cold Worked State: Strength increases via cold drawing/rolling, but ductility decreases significantly, with higher cracking risk.

Corrosion Resistance:
Resists atmospheric corrosion and weak acid environments, but poor resistance to chloride ions (prone to rusting). Not recommended for marine or chemical media. Welding may induce intergranular corrosion; application scenarios must be carefully selected.
